Early voting for Aug. 6 election begins soon

Early voting for the Aug. 6 Democratic and Republican state and federal primary and Shelby County general election is almost here.

The next mayor and sheriff of Shelby County, a slate of Shelby County Commissioners and judicial clerks will all be determined during the election.
The election will also be the first time the new Congressional maps will determine what races local voters will be voting in.
Tennessee underwent mid-decade redistricting in May 2026, and many Shelby County residents will have new representation in Congress because of it.
During the early voting period, all voters can choose any of the locations hosting early voting to cast their ballots. On election day, voters will have to go to their polling place.
Here are the locations and times of early voting ahead of the Aug. 6 election.
When is early voting?
Early voting will run from July 17 to Aug. 1.
Where can I vote early in Shelby County?
Early voting locations are open six days a week. All locations are closed on Sunday.
The following locations will host early voting Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All early voting locations will be open on Aug. 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Check your voter registration
The Tennessee Secretary of State’s website allows you to see if your voter registration is still active.
The website will ask you to fill out your county of residence, full name and date of birth.
